Unveiling the Latest from Burberry Beauty
I’ve gotten so used to online shopping that sometimes, I forget the joys of visiting a brick-and-mortar store to peruse their latest selections.
I recently had the privilege of experiencing Burberry Beauty’s newest store in Hysan Place, Causeway Bay, and it really is a shimmering, golden space like no other, carrying their latest products. The relaunched cosmetics line has been quietly expanding, and it’s lovely to see them filling out their beauty portfolio nicely with the latest additions geared towards sweltering Asian summers.
Burberry Signatures Eau de Parfum
Most know Burberry Beauty by their fragrances, specifically, Her, an adventurous gourmand fragrance that blends crushed berries with violet and jasmine, topped off with wood and creamy amber. And sure enough, fragrances take centre stage at the new store, with an exclusive Signature Experience Lounge where you can unearth your personal scent.
The luxe area showcases the Burberry Signatures collection, ten eau de parfums housed in glass perfume bottles finished with a leather knot designed to embody the beauty of the natural world. To transport wearers even further, a trio of Extreme Botanicals scents take inspiration from flowers that thrive in the harshest environments—pretty poetic. My favourite is the Ash Flower, which has aromatic notes of saffron, cistus flower, tonka bean, and almond milk.
Beyond Wear Perfecting Matte Cushion
Burberry already offers two cushion foundations, Matte Glow and Ultimate Glow, the latter a cushion alternative to its liquid foundation of the same name. So, it was only a matter of time before they released a similar adaptation for their Beyond Wear range.
Fans of the classic matte foundation will love the new Beyond Wear Perfecting Matte Cushion. It is a lightweight, breathable formula with buildable coverage that goes from medium to full for a flawless finish. It uses the same exclusive Trench Protect Technology, inspired by the revolutionary fabric of Burberry’s trench coats, which acts as a shield to keep makeup intact and weatherproof for long-lasting wear.
The vegan formula also has SPF15 with plant-based key ingredients, including bamboo powder, silk-cotton tree flower extract, rosa damascena and Darjeeling tea leaf extract that mattify, rebalance and hydrate, all while fighting oxidants and pollution for the skin.
Brit Shine Lipstick
Burberry’s other new release is the Brit Shine Lipstick that smooths and plumps lips for 6 hours.
Unlike the Burberry Kisses, which come in a classic lipstick tube, the Brit Shine is reminiscent of Korean tinted balms with outstanding gloss and colour payoff. Its vegan formula glides on easily with a faint rose petal scent, suitable even for sensitive lips. It’s essentially pigmentation, hydration, and staying power rolled into one, sans the irritation or discomfort.
Housed in a glass-like case with touches of gold, Burberry’s British roots inspire its 15 shades. These include Heritage Honey, inspired by the colour of the Burberry trench coat, Tea Party, a classic English tradition, alongside Kensington Crush and Pimlico Sunset, named after two of London’s iconic neighbourhoods. I’m wearing shade 614 Pimlico Sunset for that perfect warm glow. If you have neutral to cool undertones, shade 606 Rose Petal is the perfect MLBB shade.
